Dr. Kazmierski Joins Armstrong Teasdale's IP Group

Dr. Steven T. Kazmierski, who holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, has joined the law firm of Armstrong Teasdale LLP as an associate and member of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group.
His primary focus is on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, as well as the counseling of clients in the biological, chemical and life sciences fields on a variety of intellectual property issues. Dr. Kazmierski has extensive experience in protein, DNA and RNA purification, protein chemistry and expression, antibody production, in situ hybridization, gene structure analysis, cell culture and microscopy.
He has authored numerous articles appearing in such scientific publications as the Journal of Molecular Biology, Journal of Cell Biology, Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine and European Journal of Cell Biology.
Dr. Kazmierski received his J.D. in 2006 from Washington University School of Law. In 2000, he received his Ph.D. from Florida State University where he studied cytoskeletal protein organization. He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Arizona where he studied cardiac and striated muscle sarcomere assembly. Dr. Kazmierski received his B.S. from Florida State University in 1993.
He is a member of the The Missouri Bar, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the American Intellectual Property Association. Dr. Kazmierski is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Armstrong Teasdale continues to expand its Intellectual Property practice with Dr. Kazmierski becoming the fifth professional added to the more than 65 member group in the last 90 days. The firm was recognized by Intellectual Property Today this year as one of the nation’s top patent firms, making it the first Missouri law firm named to the list. In addition, the St. Louis Business Journal reports that Armstrong Teasdale has the largest patent practice in the city.
