Steven Cousins Named St. Louis Best Lawyers Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Lawyer of the Year

November 30, 2009

Armstrong Teasdale LLP is pleased to announce that Steven N. Cousins has been named the 2010 “St. Louis Best Lawyers Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Lawyer of the Year.”

Cousins is a partner and Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Financial Restructuring, Reorganization and Bankruptcy practice and the Financial Services Group. In addition, he is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Best Lawyers, which has been publishing peer review listings for more than a quarter of a century, names one lawyer in each specialty in each community as a “Lawyer of the Year.” The listing appears on its website http://www.bestlawyers.com. Cousins has also been listed in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® that was released earlier this year.

Best Lawyers compiles its lists through peer-review surveys in which thousands of lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® is based on more than 2.8 million evaluations.

Last month, Cousins was named a 2009 Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer in an annual listing of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. He was also named by Super Lawyers to its list of “The Top 100” and “The Top 50” lawyers in St. Louis. The lists appear in the 2009 Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers magazine.

Additionally, he was recently selected as one of St. Louis’ Most Influential African Americans. The designation was awarded in the Fifth Anniversary Edition of "Who’s Who in Black St. Louis," which showcases more than 260 African American leaders, entrepreneurs, corporate brass and community leaders.
